For decades, staffing agencies and temp agencies have been struggling to place the abundance of temporary workers into the low supply of temporary positions. In recent years, however, employers have come to realize the temporary workforce is a key opportunity for employing individuals without committing to long term employment and associated work benefits.
As an employee, seeking out temporary employment offers many advantages over permanent employment. But, even with these common disadvantages, choosing a career as a temporary employee will give you an environment with little accountability, a significant decrease in stress, diversity and variety of work experiences, the advantage to take vacation and time off of work without question and may even have opportunities for acquiring overtime pay. Additionally, many temporary staffing agencies seek to pay their employees on a weekly basis which is far different from that of regular corporate employment positions.
